About

Jo Bogacz is a full-time Yoga Therapist and Yoga Teacher based in Cardiff, Wales. Jo started practising yoga and meditation over twenty five years ago to bring a clarity to her life whilst recovering from a chronic health condition.  She trained as a British Wheel of Yoga Teacher in 2013, then further qualified as a Professional Yoga Therapist and is registered with Complementary & Natural Health Council (CNHC). She has specialist expertise in yoga therapy for mental health, chronic pain, older people and women's health.
She has personal lived experience of a long-term chronic health condition and how the transformative power of yoga as a psychosomatic technology coupled with compassion-based practice fosters healing, change and choice. Jo emphasises working with yogic tools and techniques for holistic health and purposeful wellbeing.  She encourages the use of yoga to foster more helpful choices in daily life, to reconnect with yourself, and as a process to find your own way authentically. She works in a trauma informed way offering integrative body and breathwork for optimum holistic health and somatic wellbeing.
As a qualified Yoga Teacher and registered Professional Yoga Therapist, Jo is committed to maintaining and building her range of skills, professionalism and competency through ongoing professional development and regular accredited CPD training.   Jo is a health practitioner on a Government approved accredited register for professional standards and has shown a commitment to maintaining standards in yoga practice including holding a range of roles in national organisations and being a Director in a social enterprise that brings yoga to members of the community who may not otherwise benefit from yoga.

Jo teaches hatha yoga and meditation with the aim of improving physical, mental and emotional well-being.  Her approach is gentle and nurturing combining asana (physical postures), pranayama (yogic breathing) and meditation with a strong emphasis on mindfulness and relaxation.  She is committed to supporting students develop their own unique, personal yoga practice to bring a greater awareness, connection, balance, and renewed vitality to mind and body.  Jo's genuine interest in people naturally enables her to work in an empowering and insightful way. TESTIMONIAL

What Jo's students say

"Thank you for sharing your beautiful self to support and assist others. Your presence is beautiful, very soothing and caring. Your pure presence and unconditional acceptance was what nourished me the most." Lisa - Nov 2024
"It has been really helpful and grounding for me to attend class, you are such a skilled and calming teacher. I count the days of the week around our yoga class now!" - Jane

"I thoroughly enjoy your classes and really feel I have benefitted from them, especially with your focus on technique. I see and feel progress in such a short time especially with my flexibility and balance." - Craig
"I like the fact you emphasise breathing and the "meditative" side of yoga whilst doing postures." - Marion
"A good progressive course which I have enjoyed. Looking at health benefits, the class helps as part of my fitness and weight control plan. The big win for me is breathing which is always something I go back to. I like and appreciate the informal teaching approach."  - Stephen
"I am really finding the class helpful in managing my stress levels and increasing my balance & strength."
- Siobhan
"Yoga classes have helped me become more relaxed. I feel a lot calmer and more focused on day to day tasks now." - Matthew
"Your class has given me a place to go every week where I can forget about the stress of the day." - Nicole
"I believe the classes have had an impact on me as my neck is less stiff, I definitely move and stretch more as a result - all the time actually; at work and at home. I noticed a difference when I was unable to attend as we didn't have a class. I really enjoy the classes and look forward to the peaceful nature of them in amongst my busy work and home life, many thanks for this."  - Victoria
